Paint Correction: What’s the Hype?

Paint correction is the process of removing swirls, scratches, and other imperfections from your vehicle’s clear coat. Unlike waxes or fillers that just mask defects, correction restores your paint’s true clarity, and it shows.

Restore Depth and Gloss

Over time, your paint can start to look flat and lifeless. Paint correction removes the haze, oxidation, and micro-scratches that scatter light and dull your finish. Once polished and corrected, your vehicle reflects light more cleanly, revealing a deeper, more vibrant shine that looks even better than when it left the factory.

Prep Your Vehicle For Additional Treatments

Ceramic coating or sealant only performs as well as the surface beneath it. Paint correction ensures your clear coat is clean and defect-free before we apply ceramic coating to the vehicle. Without paint correction, you could be locking in defects such as swirl marks. Invest in paint correction for a flawless finish that will last years.

Erase the Years from Your Paint

Light scratches, dull spots, and hazy reflections don’t show up overnight; they build up over time. Our paint correction process carefully removes a thin layer of damaged clear coat, eliminating surface defects and restoring a smoother, more reflective finish underneath. It’s the closest thing to turning back the clock on your car’s paint, without a respray.

Is Paint Correction Right for Your Vehicle?

Paint correction is not only for show cars. It’s a great choice for any driver who wants their vehicle to look its best. Not sure if it’s the right choice for you? Here are a few signs your car might be due for a paint correction:

  • You see swirl marks or scratches in the sunlight.

If your paint looks hazy, scratched, or has that spiderweb pattern in direct light, your clear coat has likely been worn down by improper washing, aging, or environmental exposure. Correction removes those defects and smooths out the finish.

  • Your paint has lost its depth or gloss.

Faded, dull paint is often the result of oxidation and surface damage. Paint correction eliminates those imperfections and brings out a deeper, more reflective shine.

  • You’re preparing for ceramic coating.

Ceramic coating and PPF need a flawless base to work effectively and look their best. Applying ceramic on top of scratches or haze locks in those defects. A professional paint correction ensures these treatments looks better and last longer.

  • Your car is new, but has some flaws

Yes. Even brand-new vehicles can come with swirl marks, buffer trails, or marring from dealership prep. Starting with a correction gives you a truly clean slate.

If you care about how your car looks and want to preserve its value, paint correction is one of the most impactful upgrades you can make.

FAQ

Paint Correction FAQ

  • How long does paint correction take?

The amount of time it takes us to complete the correction heavily depends on the condition of your paint and the level of correction needed. Most jobs take anywhere from 4 to 10 hours. More severe defects or larger vehicles may require additional time.

  • Does paint correction remove all scratches?

Our high-quality paint correction services aim to remove up to 90% of defects, including swirl marks, oxidation, and light to moderate scratches in the clear coat. Paint correction does not remove deep scratches that have gone through the paint or primer, but it can make them far less noticeable.

  • Can I get paint correction without ceramic coating?

It’s not necessary to follow a  paint correction with a ceramic coating service. While many customers choose to follow correction with a ceramic coating, you’re welcome to book it as a standalone service to refresh your paint’s finish.

  • Is paint correction safe for my clear coat?

When performed by a professional, paint correction is completely safe on your clear coat.  We use precise techniques and professional-grade equipment to carefully level the clear coat without over-polishing or causing damage. During correction, only a tiny fraction of the clear coat is removed, usually just a few microns (less than the thickness of a human hair). This is enough to eliminate surface defects while preserving the long-term health of your paint.

  • How do I keep my paint looking good after correction?

We’ll give you more specific care tips after your service, but in general, we recommend regular hand washes and avoiding automatic car washes. It’s also good practice to invest in an exterior detailing service from time ot time to keep your vehicle in tip-top shape.
